How Much Does Kill Switch Installation Cost? A Guide to Your Quote

Understand kill switch installation pricing, what Corsa Nero's package includes, separate tracking costs and what to check before approving a quote.

How Much Does Kill Switch Installation Cost? A Guide to Your Quote

How much does a kill switch installation cost? At Corsa Nero Auto Electrical, concealed GPS and kill switch installation packages currently start at $699 for hardware and installation. The tracking subscription is billed separately, and your final quote is confirmed after reviewing your vehicle.

That starting figure is a useful reference, but it is not a universal price for every car or every type of kill switch. When comparing installers, look at the complete scope of work, the equipment included and the ongoing costs. A device price on its own is not the same as a professionally installed vehicle security package.

What does the starting installation price include?

Our GPS tracker and kill switch installation package includes hardware, compatibility review, concealed installation and wiring, account and app setup, functional testing and a walkthrough. Installation workmanship is covered for six months. Hardware and subscription terms are separate.

Before confirming an appointment, we review the proposed installation for your vehicle and confirm the final price. The aim is to give you a clear understanding of the work rather than quote a generic device and leave the installation details unresolved.

Ask for a quote that identifies what you are buying. It should be clear whether it covers starting control, GPS tracking or both, and whether setup and testing are part of the service.

Why can the final quote vary by vehicle?

A concealed kill switch installation needs to suit the vehicle's electrical system and the proposed equipment. Your year, make and model are the starting point for that review. Existing aftermarket equipment, such as remote start, an alarm or previous electrical modifications, may also need to be considered.

Two cars with similar values do not necessarily require the same installation work. Vehicle purchase price alone is not a reliable way to estimate the quote. Compatibility and the actual work required matter more than assuming that a luxury car always needs a particular package.

Send the relevant details before booking, including any known electrical concerns. If additional information is needed, we will discuss it with you. Do not assume that equipment fitted to another vehicle can simply be transferred to yours without review.

Separate the installation cost from the tracking subscription

The initial installation payment and the ongoing tracking service are different costs. For our connected GPS and kill switch package, the tracking subscription is billed separately. We confirm the current recurring cost with your quote.

An active plan and cellular coverage are required for live tracking and remote commands on the installed system. Ask which features depend on that service and what support is available if you have a question about your account.

When budgeting, consider the installation quote and your chosen service period together. Check the billing frequency, activation arrangements and any applicable charges before you approve the work. Do not assume a plan for a different device or platform can be used with the installed equipment.

Compare the same scope, not just the lowest number

A basic switch, a GPS tracking device and a connected GPS and kill switch installation are not interchangeable purchases. If one quote is lower, first check whether it includes the same functions and level of installation service. A different scope may explain the difference without either offer being directly comparable.

Use this checklist when reviewing an installation quote:

  • Hardware: Is the required equipment included, or is the quoted amount for labor only?
  • Compatibility: Has the installer reviewed your exact vehicle and relevant modifications?
  • Installation: Does the scope include the proposed concealed wiring and integration?
  • Setup: Are account activation assistance and app setup included?
  • Handover: Will the system be tested and its operation explained?
  • Ongoing costs: Which subscription and other charges are separate?
  • Workmanship: What installation coverage is provided, and how do you request support?

For a closer look at the appointment itself, read what to expect before booking a kill switch installation. A clear handover should help you understand the system, not leave you guessing how to operate it.

What about mobile installation and multiple vehicles?

Mobile installation may be considered for select cases, including multiple vehicles, subject to approval. An additional service fee may apply. It is not automatically included in the starting package price.

If you are enquiring about company cars, work trucks or several personal vehicles, provide the vehicle count and each vehicle's year, make and model. Explain whether you are requesting mobile service so availability and any additional fee can be discussed before booking.

Do not assume multiple vehicles qualify for a discount or a single shared subscription. Ask for the installation scope and recurring costs to be made clear for the proposed project. Different vehicles may require different compatibility reviews.

Choose the security function you actually need

Before spending money, identify your priority. Do you want additional starting control, vehicle location information or both? Avoid paying for a feature simply because it appears in a larger package.

Our guide to GPS trackers versus kill switches explains the distinction. If you already have factory security, review what to check before adding equipment to a vehicle with a factory alarm.

No security system guarantees theft prevention or recovery. Operate the installed system only as instructed, and never use remote immobilization to attempt to stop a moving vehicle. Equipment should be chosen for its actual functions and limitations, not a theft proof promise.

Common questions about installation pricing

Is $699 the final price for every vehicle?

No. It is the current starting price for our hardware and installation package. Vehicle requirements can affect the final quote, and the tracking subscription is separate. Confirm the quoted amount for your vehicle before booking.

Does the workmanship warranty cover the subscription?

No. Our six month workmanship warranty relates to installation workmanship. Hardware and tracking service terms are separate. Ask which provider handles each type of support so you know where to direct a question.

Can I get a quote before arranging an appointment?

Yes. Start by sending your vehicle details and the functions you want. We review compatibility and discuss the proposed work before confirming your installation arrangements. An enquiry is not a confirmed booking.
